Volunteering Opportunities

Do you enjoy helping people, especially children?  Smiles are guaranteed!

The Museum is looking for individuals who can help people enjoy and learn from the activities and exhibits in the Museum.  Your presence can assure that the Museum is open on weekends and holiday afternoons.  You would be showing visitors what there is to see and do in the Museum, selling items from our small nature shop, and doing some minimal record keeping.  Training is provided.

A minimum commitment of three afternoons during the season of June 28th through October 26th is required.  We also need volunteers to help at the special events during the year.

Do you enjoy the outdoors? The Museum is looking for individuals to lead trail walks on the Museum's Ferns and Forest Trail and to assist with trail development and maintenance. You should be comfortably able to walk a half mile and be sure-footed on uneven terrain.

Are you artistically creative? You might enjoy helping with exhibit design or with writing articles for the Museum's quarterly newsletter.  We are interested in volunteers of all ages, including students.

Additional Information:

  • Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and should have a passion for nature and the outdoors and a desire to share it with others.
  • A parent with a child (ages 6 and up) are welcome to volunteer together.
  • Teaching experience is a plus and some knowledge of nature is helpful, but they are not required.
  • Our liability insurance covers volunteers.

Please call Sandra Martin, Director, at (603)746-6121, to learn more about volunteering at The Little Nature Museum.
